Cisco Vpn Client 5.0 Free Download For Windows 7

Does this work for 64 bit win7 also ? I tried the same steps that joshP mentioned in my 64bit windows 7 7068 build. The winFix & DNEupdate64bit isntalled fine, but the cisco vpnclient setup is erroring out saying that this version of setup does not support 64-bit.

I can not install any version of Cisco vpnclient-win-msi-5.0.0xxx.exe on windows 7 buid 7100 64 bit. The error msg that I have is "Error 28011: Windows 64-bit is not support by Cisco System VPN Clietn 5.0.05.0290.".

You can also try Shrewsofts VPN client. This is a free VPN client that can also be configured to use with Cisco VPN equipment. I use it to connect to a Cisco ASA-5505 (on 64-bit Windows Vista) and it works like a charm. Get it from www.shrewsoft.com/download

I didn't want to use VM so I tried NCP. It worked great but at $144 for license it was more than I wanted to pay. So I kept looking and found open source client - Shrew. They have 64-bit RC version for Windows 7. Install took less than a min and it imported cisco .pcf config file. I was on the network in couple min! Thanks for saving me $144, I'll donate 10% of that to the Shrew crew.

i followed the steps to install cisco vpn client and sucessfully connection vpn with wired or wifi internet connection but using USB mobile broadband or built-in mobile broandband like ericsson F3057g which after logged in VPN sucessfully all traffic pass through is deny...

Here's my configuration: Window 7 OS, T-Mobile broadband wireless internet connection, Shrew V2.1.5. I downloaded a vpn client profile from work. My login attempt failed each time with the same message:

This was our experience, Cisco VPN client for 64 bit works like a charm when connected to a network (wired or wifi) It does not work (it will authenticate only) when going via mobile broadband (in our case Telstra Australia). After reading this thread i downloaded the latest Shrew VPN client. Imported the Cisco profile file, Connected and Authenticated and all apps worked as they should. 3 cheers for Shrew.

Hmm, nobody mentioned Shrew Soft VPN Client yet ? It's a free (as in beer) and cross platform VPN client that compatible with Windows 64 bit. Although free, but support from the author has been great. Currently it doesn't support hybrid xauth+certificate mode but the feature will come soon.

The Shrew Soft VPN Client for Windows is available in two different editions, Standard andProfessional. The Standard version provides a robust feature set that allows the user toconnect to a wide range of open source and commercial gateways. It contains no trial periodlimits, nag screens or unrelated software bundles. It is simply free for both personal andcommercial use. The Professional edition offers additional features that may be helpful forusers connecting to a corporate LAN. It is installed by default with a 14 day evaluationperiod limit. To use the Professional edition after the evaluation period has expired, aclient license may be purchased from the Shrew Soft Shop.

As an alternative you Shrew Soft has put out a free VPN client that is compatible with Cisco's VPN client you can even import the .pcf file into it. We had to use this for a bunch of 64bit computers that we had before cicso decided to put out a 64bit vpn client for their previous VPN sollution and not their new gateway product.

Thank you, even for Windows 10 Pro 1809 this hint worked, although Microsoft mentioned after update to 1809 the ciscovpnclient-programm has been deleted due to incompatibility. After repair the app and correcting the registry-key, the connection succeeded!

Amazing so easy, now why in the world does windows make it so difficult!, Download winfix, download dne reset, then this, all to install something that always worked perfectly well in win 7!! Thanks a million!

Gareth, this is a great tip! Thanks. I upgraded to Windows 10 last night and the Cisco VPN client would not even start. So I uninstalled it, rebooted, downloaded and reinstalled it. My registry did NOT contain the value name of DisplayName, so I simply created a String Value key called DisplayName, and then out in the value data of Cisco Systems VPN Adapter for 64-bit Windows. Closed out of the VPN client and opened it back up, and it worked! Thank you very much sir!

Great article. My issue was with Any connect VPN client on windows 8.1. Client would throw an error after i have supplied username and password and on checking the windows event viewer log i see warning with a message saying Cisco AnyConnect VPN Client must be reinstalled after you upgrade windows. I found that for AnyConnect client registry is located at \HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\vpnva. at said location i removed extra characters from the DisplayName key as mentioned above in the article and worked like a charm!! Just FYI client exe was for windows7/vista.

Hi I had made all the require changes as given by you, I checked regedit that is also correct ,Can you give any other solution. I am used windows 8 Enterprise 32 -bit version. And VPN Client version is vpnclient-win-msi-5.0.06.0160-k9Please do needfull

Shrew soft VPN client worked for me. I have Win 8.1, and none of the other suggestions worked for me (disable signed drivers, changing registry display value, deterministic network fix) I just imported my cisco .pcs file

Cisco Anyconnect is a VPN client, which offers quick and easy access to a private network via the internet, with a setup process that allows it to be tweaked to suit a variety of users. This latest iteration of the Cisco VPN client is a free download too, although it is perhaps not quite as user friendly as the paid-for options offered by the likes of ExpressVPN (opens in new tab), NordVPN (opens in new tab), Surfshark (opens in new tab) and the other premium VPN brands out there.
